FAQs
How much do you charge?
Your investment is $200 per 50 minute session. You are investing in yourself - your mental health and wellness.
Do you take insurance?
Insurance companies require a diagnosis in your permanent record and access to your notes. I value your privacy and want to help you maintain mental health and wellness, not pathologize you with a diagnosis.
How can I pay?
I accept credit card, debit card, and HSA as methods of payment. Typically, the payment is run the night of your appointment. Credit cards are run through a secure, encrypted, HIPAA compliant service.
What if I have other questions about billing prior to my appointment?
Please contact me for any additional questions you may have. I look forward to hearing from you!
How do I get started?
Take that first step in your healing journey. Schedule a phone consultation.
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
• You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
• Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
• If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
• Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call the Colorado Division of Insurance at 303-894-7490 or 1-800-930-3745.
What are you doing in relation to the COVID-19 Pandemic?
I am fully vaccinated and am now seeing clients both in-person and via Telehealth. When we meet in-person, masks are optional for those who are fully vaccinated. My video conferencing software is secure and HIPAA-compliant. You will receive an email with the link prior to your scheduled appointment. For Telehealth, please make sure you are in a private location that allows you to have the same level of concentration and openness you show in our in-person sessions. I’m committed to continuing care, and helping you reach your therapy goals.
I think that I need help, but that seems expensive.
Therapy is an investment in yourself and your personal growth. You might have to make some sacrifices in your budget like skipping those lattes, dinners out, or bottles of wine. However, I firmly believe that you will find that it is well worth the money! I have certainly found this to be true with my own counselor! If $200 is still too expensive for you, I would be happy to refer you to affordable counseling programs within my network.
What if people find out and judge me for seeing a therapist?
I provide full confidentiality according to HIPAA, just like if you were to visit the doctor. This means I am committed to keeping what is said in our sessions private. Overall, I am here to support you and I pride myself on providing a safe, supportive, and non-judgemental environment for your healing. I also provide online sessions making it easy to attend without having to be seen walking into a therapist’s office. No one has to know!
How do I find your office?
I am seeing people via Telehealth and in-person. My office is located at 6200 S. Syracuse Way Suite 260, Greenwood Village, CO 80111. It is south of Orchard and I25.
What if I can’t find a time that fits my schedule?
I offer mostly afternoon and evening sessions Tuesday through Saturday which means that I can accommodate almost any schedule. If you need to meet before your kid’s school gets out or after work, I got you!
What if therapy stirs up more issues than I can handle right now?
Since therapy often involves discussing unpleasant aspects of your life, you may experience uncomfortable feelings like sadness, guilt, anger, frustration, loneliness, and helplessness. On the other hand, therapy has also been shown to have benefits for people who go through it. Therapy often leads to better relationships, solutions to specific problems, and significant reductions in feelings of distress. But there are no guarantees of what you will experience.
I can promise you that I work in a very empathetic and gentle way so as to build safety and trust prior to discussing anything painful or traumatizing. We can go as fast or as slow as you feel comfortable with. My goal is to keep you within the “window of tolerance” to provide maximum growth and healing without further traumatizing you or giving you more than you can handle at any one time.
