Emotionally Focused Therapy

Dr. Sue Johnson originally designed Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to help couples struggling in their relationships. Since then, Emotionally Focused Therapy has been adapted for use with individuals to help them deepen the relationships in their lives. EFT is grounded in attachment theory.

My Approach to Emotionally Focused Therapy

My approach to Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) is grounded in the belief that emotions are the key to understanding ourselves and our relationships. I know from experience how difficult it can be to feel emotionally disconnected from your partner or loved ones, and how easy it is to fall into patterns of frustration, withdrawal, or conflict. EFT helps us recognize these patterns and transform them into opportunities for healing and connection. I work with couples and individuals to identify and understand the emotional needs driving their behaviors, fostering a safe space to express vulnerability and rebuild trust. My goal is to help you create deeper emotional bonds by learning how to respond to each other with empathy and care. Whether you’re dealing with communication struggles, past hurts, or simply feeling distant, EFT provides the tools to rediscover connection and strengthen your relationships at the core.
